FAQ
Voodux Simple Subscriptions
How do I start selling subscriptions?
The easiest way to get started is to follow the Quick Start Guide on the Dashboard tab. This interactive 6-step checklist will guide you through the entire setup process, from creating your first pricing plan to going live with subscriptions. Each step includes direct links to help you complete the configuration quickly and efficiently.
Why isn't the subscription widget showing on my product page?
If the widget is missing, check the following:
Ensure the product is linked to an active Pricing Plan in the app (step 2 of the Quick Start Guide).
Verify that the subscription widget has been added to your product detail page (step 3 of the Quick Start Guide).
Check if the product is available in the ‘Online Store’ sales channel.
Can I offer a discount for subscribers?
Yes! When creating a Pricing Plan, you can add a Pricing Policy. You can choose between a percentage discount (e.g., 10% off), a fixed amount off (e.g., $5 off), or a fixed price (e.g., always $20). This discount will apply to every recurring order for that subscription.
How do I manage existing customer subscriptions?
Navigate to the Subscriptions tab to see a list of all active and inactive contracts. From there, you can Pause, Resume, or Cancel the subscription. You can view detailed information for each subscription, including pricing, product details, and billing schedule.
What happens when a customer's payment fails?
If a customer’s payment fails during a subscription renewal, Shopify will automatically retry the payment according to your payment gateway’s retry settings. The customer will receive an email notification asking them to update their payment method. You can monitor the billing status in the Subscriptions tab under the Billing status column. If payment continues to fail after all retry attempts, you may need to contact the customer directly to resolve the payment issue.
Can I change the billing interval for an existing plan?
You cannot change the interval (e.g., from Monthly to Weekly) of an existing plan because it may affect active subscriptions. Instead, create a new Pricing Plan with the desired interval and link it to your products. You can then delete the old plan if you no longer wish to offer it to new customers. Note that existing active subscriptions will continue to run on the old plan even after it’s deleted – only new customers will be unable to subscribe to it.
